This screw taps its own thread when applied to the application, forming a regular thread in the material – which can be metric or imperial depending on the screw – reducing strip out problems and providing high resistance to vibration.
This feature improves speed of assembly achieved through lower driving torque, thus reducing operator fatigue and being more cost-effective.
Although pre-tapped holes are not required, Thread Rolling screws can be used in pre-tapped holes. Similarly, Thread Rolling screws tap a thread into the sheet metal, creating a thread that regular threaded screws – such as machine screws and bolts – can be used within if required.
Available in thread diameters from M0.8 to M8, with lengths ranging from 4mm to 100mm.
Non-standard sizes, materials and finishes are available to order as specials, including small volume manufacture, modifications and custom parts made to drawings.
